Unit of packaging

  • Pack size: 1000 ml bottle
  • Bottle contains: 12,500 predatory mites (nymphs and adults) in millet husks, bran and sawdust

Precautions: In case of mechanical application inhalation of the product may cause sensitization. A dust mask is recommended as protection for operators and people working near place of application

Application:  The pieces of information given below are merely indications. Tailored advice can be provided if information is available on the local factors that need to be taken into account, such as the crop, the climate conditions and the level of infestation. Always consult your local consultant or recognized distributor, which will be able to advise you further.

Introduction: Turn and shake gently before use. Carefully sprinkle material on leaves. Make sure the material remains on the leaves for some hours after introduction. Do not carry out any work on the crop in the hours after releasing the predatory mites. Aim for a minimum of 5,000 release points per hectare, evenly distributed over the total surface area.

Environmental conditions: The predatory mite Amblydromalus limonicus is:

  • not susceptible to diapause, so can be introduced in winter
  • effective at temperatures as low as 13°C

Storage and handling: Biological beneficials have a very short life expectancy and therefore need to be introduced into the crop as soon as possible after receipt. Storing them for a period can have a negative impact on their quality and is only possible under the conditions described below. Koppert B.V. is not liable for any loss of quality if the product is stored for longer than recommended and/or under incorrect conditions.

  • Storage after receipt: 1-2 days.
  • Storage temperature: 12-14°C/54-57°F
  • In the dark
  • Provide ventilation to prevent CO2 accumulation.

Remarks: Amblydromalus limonicus also develops on pollen of sweet pepper and other crops. Preventive introduction is possible from the moment when the crop flowers continuously.

  • Mobile stages: beige-pink, droplet shaped, 'pushed down' position on short legs
  • Eggs: oblong, transparant white
  • All stages can be found in the corner of main vein and lateral veins and in the flowers.
  • It is not possible to distinguish Amblydromalus limonicus in the field from Amblyseius swirskii, Neoseiulus cucumeris and Neoseiulus californicus.

Mode of action: Adult predatory mites, nymphs and larvae hunt their prey or wait for it to pass by and then suck it dry.
