Amblyseius swirskii target young larvae of various thrips species, eggs and larvae of whitefly (both Trialeurodes vaporariorum and Bemisia tabaci). Use Swirski-Mite as a preventive method and when the first signs of a pest appear.

Field demonstrations have also shown A.swirskii to be helpful in controlling spider mites, and may help to control tarsonemid mites such as cyclamen and broad mites.

Optimum conditions are between 77-82°F with RH around 70%, but this is not necessarily a prerequisite to a successful implementation. Life-cycle numbers may vary greatly depending on the availability of food and environmental conditions.  However, significantly cooler or warmer temperatures, and/or humidity fluctuations, may hamper reproduction and/or development.
