Predatory mite Neoseiulus (Amblyseius) californicus targets the two spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae), and has also shown predation on:
- fruit tree red spider mite, also known as European red mite (Panonychus ulmi)
- citrus red mite (Panonynchus citri)
- broad mite (Polyphagotarsonemus latus)
- cyclamen mite (Tarsonemus pallidus)
These predatory mites also survive on other mites and pollen, can survive for a number of weeks without food, and tolerates high temperatures and low humidity.
Remarks: For curative control, use N.californicus in conjunction with P.persimilis. However, as N.californicus will predate P.persimilis, consider P.persimilis for initial application and "hot-spots" with follow-up applications of N.californicus on a 2 - 3 week rotation.
